Dating couples usually discuss the possibility of marriage well in advance of actually making that commitment. It's hard to imagine a guy purchasing an engagement ring, setting up an elaborate public event, and popping the question without knowing -- absolutely, for a fact -- that his girlfriend will say "yes."
...And yet delusion runs rampant amongst countless lovelorn chumps -- who cluelessly throw caution (and their hard-earned cash) to the wind on rejected wedding proposals each year. (The weird ways guys propose doesn't help matters.)
It's always sad when a wedding proposal goes awry. ...Well, sad for the rejected chump, but delightfully awkward for us! Check out the poor souls in these videos and let us know if you have any advice for guys wanting to pop the question, or if you've experienced something similar...

These are all terrible ambushes of the women by guys who figure their chances of getting a yes are better with the emotional blackmail of an onlooking crowd (or family). Surely the guys must have a sneaking suspicion that their proposals won't be welcomed, but they probably figure that the gal wouldn't dream of saying no in front of all those people. The only circumstance under which a public proposal is acceptable is if the guy has been the one dragging his feet, and the would-be bride is a sure-fire yes. Btw, the one on the talk show looks staged.
